Delivery Information

We have recently relaunched our website and for the first time in our company’s history we are now able to sell our products online. This is a huge step forward for The Old Mill, but most importantly it’s an excellent opportunity for our valued customers to browse and purchase our products from the comfort of their own homes for the first time.

Deliveries for online orders are always completely FREE if the order value exceeds £200.
If the order value is less than £200 then delivery will be charged at a flat rate of £25.

Our standard furniture delivery charges apply to UK Mainland addresses only. When an order contains more than one furniture item, the order will be delivered in its entirety as soon as all items become available. If partial order delivery is required, this will incur an additional delivery charge. An estimated delivery timescale is associated with each furniture product and we will make every effort to deliver your goods within this timescale. However delays can occasionally occur due to unforeseen factors out of our control. The Old Mill Interiors shall be under no liability for any delay or failure to deliver the products within estimated timescales.

Preparing for furniture delivery

It is the customer’s responsibility to ensure adequate access at the point of delivery. If it is not possible to deliver the items due to a lack of access space we may have to apply a charge in order to take any items back into stock. A re-stocking charge of 20% of the price of the goods will apply for goods ordered to your specification or specifically made to order such as upholstered sofas, armchairs or footstool, fitted look wardrobes including sliding door or hinged door variants and/or matching cabinets including, upholstered beds.

In order to ensure this situation does not occur we ask that you follow these few simple steps to ensure a hassle free delivery:

  1. Measure the height and width of any hallways and door accesses, as well as the entry clearance.
  2. Check the dimensions of the furniture in order to ensure the items will fit.
  3. Clear plenty of space to allow for the delivery and any packaging materials.

PREMIUM DELIVERY SERVICE DURING COVID-19 Extra measures and changes to keep everyone safe.

To protect both our customers and delivery teams we have put new measures and procedures in place to ensure that everyone’s health and well-being is given paramount importance.

The new 2-man furniture delivery measures for everyone’s safety include:

  • Ahead of any home delivery taking place, you must inform us if anyone in your home is self-isolating due to Coronavirus. If yes, we will rearrange your delivery when the symptoms have passed at least 14 days later.
  • Our standard delivery service includes placing the items in a room of your choice providing there is reasonable access to do so. All items will remain in their packaging.
  • Delivery teams will sanitise their hands both when entering and leaving their delivery vehicle using the provided hand sanitiser.
  • When in their vehicles, delivery teams will always wear masks and visors.
  • Upon arrival at a your address, delivery teams will disinfect their hands using hand-sanitiser before applying gloves and shoe covers, in addition to the face masks and visors already being worn.
  • On arrival, delivery teams will speak to you at a safe distance to discuss how the delivery will take place and what room the furniture is to be placed. If you would prefer that the delivery team does not enter your home we are able to place your order at your front door or in a garage.
  • You will be asked to vacate the room and/or area of the property for which the delivery is intended so as to minimise the proximity of interactions between the you, your family and the delivery team.
  • If you have opted to have your furniture assembled by our team, please open any windows in your room of choice before the team arrives and leave them open for the duration of the assembly.
  • You will be asked to sign receipt of the goods using your own pen or alternatively the delivery team will take a digital picture of your furniture in place

Delivery Charges

Deliveries for online orders are always completely FREE to mainland UK if the order value exceeds £200. If the order value is less than £200 then delivery will be charged at a flat rate of £25 Including VAT. In the event of order cancellation in any cooling off period, failed delivery due to you, our customer not being available at the delivery address at the agreed time and date or failed delivery due to inadequate access to deliver the goods then once a delivery has been attempted, it is non-refundable. Any further delivery requirements will be charged in full regardless of whether the initial delivery attempt was offered free of charge.

Two-man ‘white glove’ delivery

Our two-man ‘white glove’ delivery service is available on any order and particularly advisable if the items are large, heavy or need assembly. Our ‘white glove’ option includes unpacking, assembly and positioning of your furniture and all packaging will be taken away recycled or disposed of by our team. If the white glove service is chosen, this must be booked item by item and paid for before you are offered a delivery slot as we will need to allow the additional resource to complete the service within the predicted timeframe. Unfortunately we cannot offer this upgrade on the day of delivery. The cost of the ‘white glove’ service is charged at an additional £15 per item including VAT.

When will my furniture delivery arrive?

All furniture products on our website are advertised with either a delivery estimate (to any UK mainland address) or are listed as ‘In stock’. We aim to be as accurate as possible with lead times and pride ourselves on delivering your order within the estimated schedule. On the rare occasion that our estimate is not correct, we will be in touch with you as soon as possible to let you know of any delay. If a furniture item is listed as ‘In stock’ it will currently be located in our distribution centre. We aim to deliver all ‘In stock’ furniture within 1-2 weeks and you should expect to receive a text message or email with a proposed delivery date and time slot within 7 days of your order being ‘in stock’.
